Find Your Way Day... 8/31

Good afternoon, Academy families!!!

Monday, August 31st is FIND YOUR WAY DAY!!!!

I'll be opening up the building for any new students (or returners) who need to acclimate (reacclimate) themselves to your schedule and the building in general.  While the building is not overwhelmingly big, it is always good to have your bearings before starting.

From 10:00am - 12:00pm on 8/31, we will have a guard posted at the Academy Entrance in the back where the buses and parents drop off and pick up to let you in.  Feel free to stay as long or as short as you'd like to feel comfortable.

The only things you WON'T be able to see are the Cafeteria and Gymnasium.  Samoset is preparing for the start of the year as well and for those periods/classes, either myself or security escorts the students through Samoset to get to the location.

Important to Note:
This is not a meet and greet with teachers as they do not start work until the following day (that day will be 10/1/26 for parents).  The building will be mostly empty but all classrooms will be open so you can see the spaces prior to being decorated by the teachers.  You may see some fellow classmates walking around, but there are no designed activities planned for that time. This is also not a day for schedule change requests.  The goal of the two hours is to allow students to gain a sense of comfort with where rooms are as they move through periods 1-9.  Ideally, this will ease any apprehension (if there is any) for when they arrive on Wednesday, September 2nd for our first official day!

I will be here, of course, as will Ms. Dana (my secretary) to answer any questions or to just say hello.  If any teachers or staff do happen to swing by, that is nice bonus!!  Before you leave for the day, be sure to stop down to my office in Room 226 if you don't see me floating around.

Fun Reminder: I do Sachem Friday Raffle Drawings a good portion of the weeks during the year.  Students are encouraged to wear SACHEM GEAR, OR SACHEM COLORS on FRIDAY'S to be entered into the raffle.  The prize is usually $5 Dunkin card or something like that!
