Academy News: Week 19

Posted Date: 01/12/26 (08:35 AM)

Good morning, Academy families!!

Happy Monday!

We are less than two weeks away from the close of the 2nd Quarter (1/23)  We will have Midterms (all full year courses) and Regents Exams (for all who need) the week of January 20-23rd.

Mrs. Conte has reached out to one parent/guardian for each student who needs to make up an exam.  They will be coming home with a letter as well if they are slated to take a Regents exam.

FYI: ALL English 11th Grade students will sit for that exam as it is the first time it's offered.

At the Academy, we will have a REGULAR SCHOOL WEEK (1/20-1/23) with normal arrival and dismissal times via the bus.  All school midterm exams will be either project based or done as in-class exams.  Regents exams will be offered at 8am and then at 11:40am.  This will allow for regular bus travel.  There is no late arrival or early dismissal based on testing schedules and no alternate bus schedule.  All students are here for full days.

Alternating Day classes do not have midterm exams, they will take a final at the end of the school year (yes, your kids are telling the truth!).

Extra help is being offered by teachers so please be on the lookout in their Google Classrooms for more information.

Please reach out with any questions.

Below are the Regents Exams we will be having students sit for along with a note about in-class exams.  If they miss a midterm as a result of a Regents, we will utilize a day for makeups at the end of the week.

1/20 - 8:00m  - ELA (makeups and all 11th grade ELA students)
           11:40am -  Living Environment
           In-class midterms during the day

1/21 - 8:00am - US History  (makeups)
          11:40am - Algebra 1 (makeups)
          In-class midterms during the day

1/22 - 8:00am - Global History and Geography (makeups)
          In-class midterms during the day

1/23 - In-class midterms during the day

           Midterm Makeup day

I'm sorry for the long winded message!

Enjoy the day,
